Strict law will be made for stones in Madhya Pradesh, will be sentenced to life imprisonment


Indore: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan reiterated that stone-pelting in the state will not be spared. Addressing a public meeting in Indore, the CM of MP said that a strict law with provision of life imprisonment will be enacted to curb the incidents of stone pelting in the state.

Shivraj Chauhan said, “We are enacting a strong law against the stone-pelters. Under the proposed law, they will be sentenced to life imprisonment. They will not be released from jail before that.” The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh said, “The stone pelters threw stones everywhere. They try to spread terror in the public.”

The MP’s statement came days after the incident in which stones were thrown at rallies in Ujjain, Indore and Mandsaur by some groups, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), for an awareness rally about the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
