Delhi Police has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh on the arrest of four accused, including Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu, in the violence on the Red Fort on 26 January. A reward of 50-50 thousand rupees has been placed on four other accused. Deep Sidhu has so far identified more than 12 people in the case. Delhi Police is pushing for the arrest of the accused.
On actor Deep Sidhu, Gurjot Singh alias Jot, Gurjan Singh who charged for instigating the crowd that reached Red Fort and Jugraj Singh who hoisted the flag on the ramparts of the Red Fort, a reward of one lakh has been kept. Rs 50 thousand reward each on Iqbal Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Jagbir Singh and Buta Singh has also been announced. All these have a case at the Kotwali police station.
Accused Iqbal Singh, who was on the horse, is originally from Ludhiana and reached the Red Fort riding on horse on 26 January. It is alleged that he incited people to commit violence by making provocative speeches. After this, the atmosphere continued to deteriorate. The Delhi Police has sent a notice to social activist Yogita Bhayana for questioning on her two tweets on the violence on 26 January. The police have asked her to join the inquiry. On the other hand, Yogita has alleged that the Delhi Police wants to suppress her voice. Her crime is that she is supporting the farmers against the new agricultural laws. Delhi Police has called her for questioning in a registered case. The notice said that during the investigation of the case, it has come to light that two fake posts on Twitter have been made with its Twitter handle.
