The budget session of Parliament will begin on 29 January. The budget for the financial year 2021-22 will be presented on 1 February. This information has been given by the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
Budget session will be in 2 phases
The budget session will be in 2 phases and will run till 8 April. The first phase of the session will run from 29 January to 15 February. The second phase will run from 8 March to 8 April. President Ram Nath Kovind will address a joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament (Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha) on January 29 at 11 am. The budget will be presented on February 1 at 11 am.
First leg of session adjourned on 15 February
All the guidelines related to Kovid-19 will be followed during the budget session. It has been decided to postpone the first phase of the session on 15 February. This has been done for ease of considering the demands of grants of various Ministries / Departments to the Standing Committee of Parliament.
Cold session not called due to Kovid-19
Due to Covid-19, the cold session of Parliament was not called this time. The government said that this step has been taken in view of the increasing cases of corona. The opposition accused him of avoiding farmers’ protests and other issues.
