Maharashtra: Corona virus found in 3 people who returned from Britain


Three more people returning to Maharashtra from Britain have been found infected with the new variant of the fast-spreading corona virus. All the three passengers found positive on Thursday belong to PCMC.

The number of passengers returning from Britain has been reported to have been 4858. The total number of passengers who have completed 28 days of their arrival in India is 1211. RT-PCR test of a total of 3476 passengers has been done. Of these, 75 passengers have been found positive from the new strain.

According to Health Department data, there are 33 patients in Mumbai, 14 in Pune, 8 in Thane, 9 in Nagpur, two each in Nashik, Aurangabad, Raigad and Buldhana, one each from Osmanabad, Nanded and Washim. .75 samples have been sent to Pune’s National Institute of Virology (NIV) for genome sequencing. A total of 522 contact-positive cases have been detected. The contact sample has been referenced to the NIV. Samples of 18 contact-positive cases have been sent for genome sequencing.

Earlier 8 samples from Maharashtra were found positive from the new strain. On Thursday, three new strains were found positive from Pimpri Chinchwad Corp.
