Fortification of Delhi : “Line of Control” made across all the borders of Delhi


There is an ongoing tussle between the Central Government and the farmers over the new agricultural laws. After the violence on Republic Day, a ‘Line of Control’ has been prepared on the Delhi border to stop the farmers. Barbeding has been done in addition to barbed wire, RCC wall. The situation is that, like the borders of the country, soldiers are deployed along the Delhi border. Police have been given steel rods to deal with the farmers. Barricading of 4 layers has been done at Sindhu border, 7 at Tikri and 12 at Ghazipur border.  

Meanwhile, farmers have announced to jam the national and state highways across the country from 12 to 3 pm on February 6. At the same time, 250 Twitter accounts including Kisan Ekta Morcha have been suspended. They are accused of running fake and provoking tweet and hashtags. The home ministry has extended the internet ban on all three borders till Tuesday night. The Morcha members said that if the government wants to hold talks then first fix the atmosphere. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that there should be a separate budget for the agriculture sector. The government should also waive the debt of farmers. They should also get free electricity.

Kisan Morcha said that the UP Police has identified numbers of UP number vehicles and sent notices to 220 tractor owners. Around 122 protesters are under police arrest. Many people are still missing, their list is being prepared. A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court challenging the arrests made in the Delhi violence case. On the other hand, four metro stations of the Green Line were closed on Monday due to the ongoing demonstration.
