In the year 2020, Asia has the most cyber attacks on India after Japan. IBM Security’s 2021 X – Force Threat Intelligence Index report, released on Wednesday, states that 7% of the world’s total cyber attacks occurred on India. Not only this, the finance and insurance sectors were the biggest targets in the country. The manufacturing and professional services sectors were then targeted.
According to the report, Ransomware was the most commonly used type for cyber attack. About 40% of the attacks were carried out in this manner. According to Sudeep Das, Security Software Technical Sales Leader, South Asia, IBM Technology Sales, the cyber criminals also targeted relief operations and the vaccine supply chain. 150 billion security incidents in more than 130 countries were monitored daily to prepare the report.
